We work in collaboration with Boston University (BU) to cover on Valentine’s photoshoot for BU couples around the world.
It’s truly an honour to capture the love story between the two lovebirds Jane & Steve, who now lives in Hong Kong. They shared how they got together and shared their secrets for long-term relationships for us.

What interested to you for your husband?
We met in a Christian church fellowship on campus & became really great friends; we both had a common vision to go back to Asia & impact the people there instead of living the ‘material American dream.’ Steve is totally opposite in character. His strengths of great adventure, confidence, honesty, pioneering spirit & easy going nature balances out my weaknesses. Really grateful for his leadership & innovative spirit.
Steve just noticed the secret codes on Jane’s necklace with us, with the names of their three daughters and Jane’s vow to love Steve and God forever, how sweet!
What interested to you for your wife?
Jane is the most joyful and committed Christian that I know. Her love for God and people attracted me the most and that deep down I know that somehow we were meant for each other! She fully supports us with a quiet & gentle spirit in all our missionary journeys without complaints or criticisms.

What is your key to long term relationship?
Definitely a shared dream & passion that is greater than day to day issues of life; our common vision to impact people lives keeps us outward focused & calls us higher to continually reflect & devote ourselves to personal growth which in turns feeds into a healthy marriage & family life.
Spending consistent one on one time each week, clear boundaries & honest communication, giving each other forgiveness & more grace when we encounter friction; lots of laughter & travels together; ….these are some of the keys for our 32 year marriage.
