It is not often heard that one achieves degree after degree, yet Professor Abraham Wai is one of the few who has an incredibly long list of achievements and the first doctoral graduate in the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in the field of emergency medicine. Today, he celebrates his graduation ceremony as a Doctor of Medicine, specializing in the Clinical Epidemiology of COVID-19 - an astounding accomplishment. Professor. Wai is a Clinical Associate Professor at HKU, and his dedication to the field has earned him university and international awards in teaching and research in his career.

In an inspiring twist of fate, Abraham shares his commitment to clinical excellence with his wife, Professor. Janet Wong, who is the Dean of Nursing in Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU). Together, they are a remarkable duo, both committed to their careers and to uplifting the healthcare community. Their shared dedication is evident, and today’s celebration is not just about Abraham’s achievements, but also a testament to their partnership and mutual support in both their personal and professional lives.

The campus of HKU has been the witness of Abraham’s hard work and how his empathy to humans leads him to the achievement in clinical service and management. Today, as he dons his graduation gown, the air is thick with a sense of success. Excitement builds as his friends and family gather on campus to celebrate this extraordinary achievement. Together, they commemorate not only Abraham’s graduation as a Doctor of Medicine but also the bonds that strengthen and uplift them all on life’s journey.

The atmosphere is filled with joy and pride as family and friends gather to commemorate this significant milestone. This gathering not only marks Abraham’s achievement, but also reinforces the importance of community and shared goals in navigating the journey of life.
